Billy Winn

In this profile series, Revry is highlighting authentic contributors to the LGBTQ media and entertainment community. We ask questions to find out who they are and where they are going in the future. The questions remain the same but the answers tell their unique story. It’s time to explore and celebrate true representation beyond the limits of Hollywood.

Billy Winn is a Billboard-charting pop singer, songwriter, recording artist, and performer who captivates audiences with high energy dance records and emotionally charged EDM. A self-described “underground pop artist”, Billy has been performing in clubs and pride festivals around the country. In 2018, Billy released his debut EP DREAMLAND I—spawning two new singles. The EP and singles garnered acclaim and gave Winn his biggest streaming year yet—with more than two hundred thousand streams worldwide (Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora). Billy continued the momentum with the B. Ames-produced WDHS. He then returned to follow up on his debut EP by kicking off the release of his second EP DREAMLAND II with the dance hit ANOTHER BROKEN HEART.  Currently, his latest release BUSY BODY has taken on some great attention. Billy describes his music as “electropop music with a sexy urban edge.”

What are you best known for?

I would say I’m best known for my Dance shows.. People enjoy their shows a-lot! I also do stripped down shows from time to time that are a little more down tempo and intimate.. but whenever I announce a new show, one of the main questions people ask me is “will it be your dance show?!”? Lol!

What is the first song you wrote?

My song FUTURE X BOYFRIEND was my first professional songwriting job, and It was also my first time writing pop music. I didn’t anticipate the response to that song becoming as big as it did for me. But that record helped me achieve my dream of signing my first record deal! The added bonus was that it was so well received by the audiences and DJ’s around the world, that it ended up making it to the top 20’s on the Billboard Dance Charts the year it was released! It has been one of my most successful releases to date, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that record.

What are you working on that no one knows about yet?

I’ve been on hiatus for a while—basically since Covid started, so I’m getting back to my projects now. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say people won’t be disappointed with what’s to come!
