International Women’s Day on March 8, as well as the entire month of March, is a time to highlight and commemorate all that women have achieved - past, present, and future. Revry honors their contributions to our history and society, and provides recognition and encouragement of a more inclusive future.

Women have been left out from our history and overlooked far too often. This Women’s Month is a time to showcase the talent and creativity that lives within our female-identifying community. Directors, actresses, writers, and more; we’ll be interviewing creative and inspirational women who make a difference with their art.

Deven Green is an LA-based award winning comedy and musical performer, originally from Canada. She’s known for playing her satirical character Betty Bowers “America’s Best Christian”, RuPaul’s Drag Race judge, Goliath Magazine’s advice columnist, and as a live performer all across the US with the top drag queens of the world.

Deven is the host of Versus, a very unique game show on Revry.

What does Women’s History Month month mean to you?

It means that the other 11 months need to step it up.

There are so many unacknowledged women who made history. Is there a women creator that has impacted your work?

Laura Secord is a Canadian chocolatier and ice cream company named after the Canadian heroine Laura Secord.

In 1813, Laura Secord made a dangerous 19-mile (30-km) journey on foot to warn Lieutenant James FitzGibbon of a planned American attack. Her bravery contributed to victory at the Battle of Beaver Dams. #OhCanada

History is inspirational to future generations. What advice would you give the next generation of women creators?

Use your instincts. Say 'no' to projects you are not passionate about.  Your whole upbringing and history makes you unique which is the best part about you - illuminate it.  Be as kind to yourself as you are to others. Be happy for other people's successes. It's easier to be famous than talented; always strive at being talented.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Revry has curated a powerful collection of stories told by female artists featuring films, TV series, music, and more.
