March 8th, International Women’s Day

Stand-up Comedy Specials

Celebrate International Women’s Day with women comedians: Gina Yashere, Melanie Vessey, Cameron Esposito and Margaret Cho in her stand-up comedy special Psycho.


March 12th, Directors Guild of America Awards

Dykes, Camera Action!

Lesbians didn't always get to see themselves on screen, but over time they built visibility and transformed the social imagination about queerness. Filmmakers Barbara Hammer, Su Friedrich, Rose Troche, Cheryl Dunye, Desiree Akhavan, film critic B. Ruby Rich, and others share moving and often hilarious stories from their lives and discuss how they've expressed queer identity through film.

The Queen of Ireland

How one man in a dress is changing the world. The Queen of Ireland is a documentary that follows drag queen Panti Bliss: part glamorous aunt, part Jessica Rabbit, she's a wittily incisive performer with charisma to burn who is widely regarded as one of the best drag queens in the world. Created by Rory O’Neill, Panti is also an accidental activist and in her own words ‘a court jester, whose role is to say the unsayable.

Baby Steps

From Oscar-winning Producer Li-Kong Hsu and Stephen Israel, comes this multi-cultural comedy-drama, which takes a funny but honest look at gay family issues in complicated dynamo of a cross-generational Taiwanese and American family. Danny, a Taiwanese-American man, longs to have a baby with his American partner Tate, but their attempts at international surrogacy are complicated by Danny’s meddling mother, who wants to control every aspect of the process -- all the way from Taipei.
