Remembering the Stonewall Uprising of 1969

The culmination of years of queer activism, the Stonewall Uprising of June 1969, which took place over the course of six days, marks a change of discourse surrounding queer activism in the United States. Named after the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar in New York City, it would be an uprising covered heavily by the media, and would be a moment of rebellion against the years of police raids targeting the establishment. Revry has gathered documentaries and stories about The Stonewall Uprising to help educate and remember the heroic accomplishments of these queer activists.
