Continuing the Work of Rodney Wilson Beyond LGBTQ History Month

Rodney Wilson is the high school teacher credited with creating Gay History Month (later to become LGBTQ History Month) and is the subject of the film Taboo Teaching currently on Revry.  Wilson shared his story in a history lesson style format with the Yahoo LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group (Prism) which aims to be inclusive and supportive of their LGBTQ employees  He shared his real life experience during the 90’s as a teacher who came out to his class, later the world and told in the documentary Taboo Teaching streaming on Revry.

And the QueerX and Visibility Award Winners are…

The QueerX Awards brought to you by Lexus premiered October 11, 2021 for National Coming Out Day on Revry. The streaming special was the grand finale to the month-long international film festival competition, QueerX, and featured hosts Drew Droege and Raneir Pollard along with presenters Dwyane and Zaya Wade, Steven Canals, Peaches Christ, and Patton Oswalt.

Querencia: Indigiqueer Romance Story Heads To Revry This Month

The Revry Original Series Querencia from writer/director Mary Galloway (Never Steady, Never Still) will premiere all episodes on October 11, 2021, on Indigenous Peoples Day and be accessible to non-subscribers for a week. Querencia is a coming-of-age LGBTQ series that centers on the budding romance between two young Indigenous women: Abe, played by Galloway; and Daka, played by Kaitlyn Yott(Charmed).

RuPaul Wins at Emmys; LGBTQ+ Couple Sues Aetna; Inclusive Swimwear, Gubernatiorial Nuptials

RuPaul now holds the record for the most Emmys of any Black artist in history at an Emmys that otherwise failed to recognize underrepresented creatives. An LGBTQ+ couple sues Aetna for discrimination in fertility coverage.
